Hoyt Thomas, Jr., age 68, of Ducktown, TN passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 in the Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Thomas was born on May 10, 1945 in Fannin County, GA to the late Hoyt James Thomas and Bonnie Thomas. He retired from Byer & Brown Associates in Daytona, FL where he was an electronics engineer. He was a member of Victory Temple Holiness Church in Copperhill, TN. He is survived by his wife, Susan Wimberly Thomas of Ducktown, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Rocky and Crystal Wimberly of Baxley, GA and William and Misty Wimberly of Baxley, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Paul Gribble of Ducktown, TN; special friend, Linda Franklin of Ducktown; grandchildren, Joseph and Marlaina Teems, Ashley Teems Wooten and Matthew Wooten, Justin Teems, Jonathan Gribble, Josh Gribble, and Jeremy Gribble. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Reid Nicholson officiating. Pallbearers were Randall Spurling, Paul Wooten, Scotty Hughes, Jessie Soto, Walter Hyte, and Kenneth Holder. Members of Victory Holiness Church served as honorary escort.
