Mr. Homer Jackson "Jack" Key, age 80, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Born in Fannin County, GA, he was the son of the late Sidney Edmond and Minnie Mathis Key. He was retired from Cities Services after working twenty-eight years as a warehouse expediter. Mr. Key served his county during World War II in the army and was a member of McCay Lodge #423 F&AM for fifty years. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Rose G. Key of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Homer Gaylin and Cathy Key of Talking Rock, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Paul Singletary of Jasper, GA; step mother, Mrs. Hester Key of Blue Ridge, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Ethel Key of Blue Ridge, GA; three grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Key, Nathaniel Paul Singletary and Savannah Marie Singletary; many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jennings Neeld and Rev. Barbara Davidson officiating. Music was by Carolyn Bradley. Interment followed in the Epworth Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Dehart, Bob Mathis, Bill Dunn, Junior Gwynn, Brian Finnicum and Lynn Brooker. Honorary Pallbearers were William Turner, Cecil Stuart, Ben Arp, Ron Smith, Jim Carson, Takis Gaitanoglou, Terry Singletary, John Gaitanoglou, Paul Green, Glen Morris Higdon, Danny Russell, Bob Weaver and Members of the McCay Lodge #423 F&AM.
