Homer Burger, age 81, of Benton, TN passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Mr. Burger was a son of the late Emanuel and Belvie Elizabeth Jones Burger. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by siblings, Harvey, Ralph and Wayne Burger.He is survived by brother, James (Virginia) Burger of McCaysville, GA, sister, Mary Helen Burger of Benton, TN; niece, Melanie Hamby of Benton, TN; nephew, Kenneth Burger of Benton, TN; special sister-in-law, Lurena Burger of Benton, TN; Many other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 11th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Burger and Rev. Denny Hawkins officiating. Music will be by the Hicks Family. Pallbearers include, Richard Hamby, Tiffany Hamby, David Fain, Larry Sisson, Anthony Burger and Larry Burger. Interment will follow in the Community Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. The family request donations in memory of Mr. Burger may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
