Mrs. Helen Louise Westmoreland, age 76, of Murphy, NC, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015. Mrs. Westmoreland was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Jessie Watkins Guthrie and two brothers, Larry and Arnold Guthrie.She is survived by her husband of fifty nine years, Winston Westmoreland of the home; children, Ricky Westmoreland, Audrey Westmoreland, Randy (Tammy) Westmoreland, all of Murphy, NC, Patricia (Jeff) Deal of Copperhill, TN, Sharon (Bill) Pittman of Mineral Bluff, GA; brother, Scott Guthrie of Murphy, NC; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grand children.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 1st at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill chapel with Rev. Gary Queen and Rev. Chris Stanley officiating. Music will be by Rebecca Millsaps, Kathy Thomason and Shannon Stanley. Pallbearers include Brian Waters, Anthony Deal, Cody Westmoreland, Courtney Westmoreland, Scottie Guthire and Ducie Waters. Honorary Pallbearers include Isaiah Newman, Trevor Jones, Brian Deal, Riley Casto, Christopher Cole, C.H. Cole and Eddie Hampton. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Family cemetery.
