Helen Lorene Stanley, age 93, of Cherry Log, GA passed away on May 31, 2026 following an extended illness. A native of Cherry Log, she was born on July 10, 1932 to the late Wayne and Daisy Kendall Long. Helen retired from Gold Kist in Elljay, GA after 28 years of service. She attended Pisgah Church of Christ. Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be remembered by her family for making her famous little hard biscuits, coconut and chocolate cakes. She also cherished indulging in chocolate suckers and pecan pies. Helen loved word searches and treasured her time fishing and watching and feeding her birds.

Preceding her in death includes her parents; husband, David Alvin Stanley; and siblings, Lois Weeks, James Long and Betty Davidson.

Survivors include her children, Ann and Lloyd Worley, David and Tammy Stanley; grandchildren, Sammy and Casey Worley and Missy Worley; Angie and Doug Crawford, Adam and Ashlyn Stanley, Katlyn and Jake Geren; great-grandchildren, Easton Crawford, Sylas Geren, Anaka Geren and Dani Geren, Acacia Worley, Lex Worley, Samantha Sneed and Elizabeth Sneed; sister, Shirley Crane; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private memorial service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at a later date with interment following in the Garrett Cemetery.
