Helen Irene Pack, age 88, of Farner passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Helen was born on February 7, 1938 in Shelby, NC to the late Elzy Lee Hord and Zula Mae Hoyle Hord. She worked for many years as a seamstress. Known simply as "Nanny" to so many, she welcomed everyone with love. Her greatest treasure was her family which she loved beyond measure.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Elzy and Zula Hord; children, David Pack, Katherine Pack, and Beverly Queen; grandchild, Crystal Smith; and sisters, Cookie McDaniel, Sandra McTaggart, and Pearl Cole.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Dennis Pack; children, Timothy (Vickie) Pack, Ruth (Ricky) Cochran, Carolyn (Randy) Raper, and Patricia (Henry) Akins; grandchildren, Christy, Chasity (Chris), Chynne, Stephanie (Tim), Justin (Heather), Maddie (Michael), Dustin (Mandy), Brad (Brittany), Ashley (Arron), Ricky (Felisha), Tyler, and Heather (Jerry); 22 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol (Ralph) Witter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Adam Jones officiating. Music will be provided by Arron Justice. Interment will follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Raper, Brad Raper, Justin Cochran, Tyler Queen, Ricky Akins, Joel Raper, Bryson Raper, and Hunter Raper. Honorary pallbearers will be Tucker Shroth, Kelly Shroth, Landon Vivian, Aidan Justice, Austin Smith, Peyton Smith, Witten Cochran, Albert Vivian, and Kyle Akins. The family will recieve friends at Akins-Cobb of Copperhill on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
