Helen Holmes Hicks, age 93 of Copperhill passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at her home. She was born on July 8, 1925 in Ravens Croft, TN to the late William McKinley Hawkins and Ida Magnolia McDougal Hawkins. Mrs. Hicks was a Baptist. She had worked at Levi Strauss and Company in Blue Ridge as an inspector/sealer. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Corb Oscar Hicks.She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy (James) Worthey of Farner, TN and Debbie Self of Copperhill, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Mike (Theresa) Hicks of Irmo, SC; sister, Frances Stilley of Alberque, NM; grandchildren, Karen (Jady) Shorette, Shelley (Chris) Higdon, Daniel Worthey and Michael Hicks and great-grandchildren, Taylor Higdon, Raegan Higdon, Jaden Shorette and Madison Shorette also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating. Music was by Janice Reid. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill (Airport Road) Baptist Church Cemetery. Michael Hicks, Daniel Worthey, James Cearley and Brandon Payne served as pallbearers.
