Helen Baker, age 79 of Blue Ridge, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 in Ellijay, GA. She was born on July 22, 1938 in Cashes Valley, GA to the late Ernest Matthews and Eula Mae Hollaway Matthews. Helen was a member of McCaysville Church of Christ. She owned Alpha Insurance Agency. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James Claude Baker, parents and sister, Mary Matthew Jones. Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Hollye Petty (Denton) of Blue Ridge, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Tracey Matthews (Linda) of Tampa, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby Postell (Bill Joe) of Blue Ridge, GA; grandsons, Matthew Kimsey and Mason Kimsey and granddaughter, Sydney Petty. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Min. Butch Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matthew Kimsey, Mason Kimsey, Bohn Postell, Scott Marcus, Coen Marcus and Jake Postell.
