Mrs. Heddy Maye Simonds Lassinger, age 86, of Palmetto, GA, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007 at her residence. Born in Polk County, TN, she was the daughter of the late J.P. Simonds and Margurett Withrow Simonds. Mrs. Lassinger was a member of the North Park Baptist Church in Allison Park, PA. She retired from G.E. Westinghouse as a parts handler and examiner. Mrs. Lassinger had worked as a seamstress for Riches and Macy Stores and won several awards for her sewing. She was also a chalk artist.Mrs. Lassinger was preceded in death by her husband Donald P. Lassinger. She is survived by a caretaker and great niece, Carolyn Ann Turner of Palmetto, GA; brother, Jewel Simonds of Griffin, GA; two sisters, Faye Addison of Blue Ridge, GA and Marie Brown of Dover, FL; several other loving nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Lance M. Simonds officiating. Music was by Lydia Simonds. Pallbearers were Connor Cody, Zachary Sims, James Addison, Ricky Addison, Lynn Addison and Levi Ramsey. Interment followed in Macedonia (Wolf Creek) Cemetery.
