The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Hazel Katherine Harris, age 81, of Ducktown, TN who passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Glee Hill Burger and a son, Daniel Lee Harris. She is survived by her husband, Norman Harris of the home; two daughters, Janet Chwan of Fair Haven, MI, and Diane Scherer of Harrison Township, MI; six grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Danny Queen officiating. Music will be by J.E. & Carolyn Thomas. Pallbearers include Dave Scherer, Andy Chwan, Sr., Andy Chwan, Derek Chwan, Allen Chwan, Daniel Harris and Ricky Harris. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill church cemetery.
