The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Mrs. Hassie Helen Denton Dillard, age 88 of Murphy, NC who passed away on September 21, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Adolphus Lee and Carrie Bell Denton. She was a member of the Simmonds Chapel Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Mr. Albert Robert Dillard and one daughter, Annette Dillard. Survivors include three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Robert A. and Lillian Dillard of Murphy, NC, Jerry E. Dillard of Woodstock, GA, and Gary L. and Nancy Dillard of Murphy, NC; daughters and sons-in-laws, Nancy N. and Gerald Dockery of Epworth, GA, and Carrie E. and Roger Young of Alpharetta, GA; two brother-in-laws, Landon Dillard of Opelika, AL and Homer Dillard of Murphy, NC; four sister-in-laws, Juanita Faulk of Dayton, OH, Annabelle Wiggins of Columbus, GA Dorothy Hart of Murphy, NC and Bobbi Nell Clevenger of Opelika, AL; fourteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be Thursday September 23, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Clore officiating. Music will be provided by the Golden Family. Interment will follow in the Simmonds Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Rob Dillard and Rev. Todd Young officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Lee and Jeremy Dillard, Jason Murphy, Kevin Dockery, Rob Dillard and Todd Young. Honorary pallbearers include Neal Murphy, Karl Dockery, Samuel Dillard, Sawyer Dillard, Noah Dillard, Jonah Dillard, Ethan Dillard, Tyler Holley, Blake Young, Danner Hall, Emory Dillard, Bryce Sutterlin, Travis Queen, and Michael Dockery.
