Mr. Harvey Allen Pickelsimer, age 84, of McCaysville, GA passed away Thursday, August 07, 2008 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge. He was born on October 20, 1923 in Fannin County to the late Harvey Allen Pickelsimer, Sr. and Lois Cruse Pickelsimer. He worked as an auto mechanic for Patterson's Garage and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Mr. Pickelsimer was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Ellen Walkey Pickelsimer. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Johnie Pickelsimer of Epworth, Bob Pickelsimer of Blue Ridge, Benny and Teresa Pickelsimer of McCaysville, and Roger and Barbara Pickelsimer of Mineral Bluff; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Ronnie Parris of Blue Ridge, Carol and Larry Newberry of Mineral Bluff, and Kathy and Dennis Whitener of Blue Ridge; brothers, Bob Pickelsimer of Dahlonega, Dell Pickelsimer of Copperhill, and Toby Pickelsimer of Copperhill; sister, Violet Harper of Dawsonville, GA; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethel Church with Rev. Scott Baugh and Rev. Allen Pickelsimer officiating. Music was by the Bethel Church Choir and Charity Group. The following grandsons served pallbearers: Sam Parris, Rodney Pickelsimer, Terry Pickelsimer, Timmy Pickelsimer, Junior Whitenery, Trigg Parris, Joe Pickelsimer and Patrick Pickelsimer. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Patterson and Dr. Stan Trigg. Interment followed in Bethel Church Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
