Mr. Harold James Ferrell, age 85, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in Cumming, Georgia.

Harold was born on December 29, 1939, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, to the late Hansel James Ferrell and Desmer Bell Ferrell. He was a lifelong resident of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Harold was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ. He retired from the United States Postal Service, where he served as a mail carrier for thirty years. During his time on the mail route, he would often help take care of the elderly during their times of need. In his younger years, he enjoyed dirt track racing at Sugar Creek Raceway.

He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as the parents that raised him, Gordon and Bonnie Cochran; grandparents, Mark and Gertrude Bell; father-in-law, Cecil "Dock" Bearden; mother-in-law whom he referred to as "special granny", Evelyn Bearden; and siblings, Otis Cochran, Pauline Stanley, Irene McVey, J.E. Cochran, Wendell Cochran, Glen Cochran, and Kenneth Cochran.

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Bearden Ferrell; son and daughter-in-law, Devell and Connie Ferrell; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Becky Ferrell and Kayla and Erik Giddens; great-grandchild, Jax Giddens; brother, Johnny Cochran; and aunt, Lois Locke.

A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Ferrell was held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery with Minister Cody Bearden and Minister Shannon Bearden officiating. Music was led by Minister Shannon Bearden. Serving as pallbearers were Clifford Stanley, Gene Cochran, Jeff Stanley, Terry Bearden, Mike Key, and Delane Bearden. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, August 9, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family respectfully requests on behalf of great-grandson Jax, that if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please do not attend and just remember the family in your thoughts and prayers.
