Mr. Harold Dennis Davenport, age 70, of Dalton, GA, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Quinton Memorial Health and Rehabilitation in Dalton, GA. He was born July 1, 1944 to the late Marshall Dennis and Pearl Mae Miller Davenport. He was a 25 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Family Fraternity. He is survived by his life partner, Gretta Davenport; Brothers, Johnny (Linda) Davenport of Dalton, GA, William (June) Davenport of Union Grove, AL, and Charles Dickey of Dalton, GA; Sisters, Shirley Haney, Sheila (Jehu) Edwards, Mina Sue (John) Glass, and Shelby Jean Ayers. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, November 21, 2014 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Clayton officiating. Music will be by Alex Davenport. Interment will follow in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00-9:00 PM.
