Hallman Ned Jarrett, age 83, of Epworth passed away Friday, September 5, 2025. Mr. Jarrett was born on August 23, 1942 in Pickens County, GA to the late Henry Hallman Jarrett and the late Sally Wiggington Jarrett. During his working life, he worked as a skilled brick mason.
Ned was a man who loved the simple things in life and found the greatest joy in the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, camping, fishing, or tending his garden, he was happiest surrounded by nature. He lived a humble life and will be remembered for his quiet strength and gentle spirit.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Charity Burns; and siblings, Opal McDaris, Charlie Hugh Jarrett, and Billy Gene Jarrett.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lou Early Jarrett; children, Mike (Marsha) Jarrett, Judy (Tommy) Elliott, Harold Jarrett, Melvin (Elaine) Jarrett, Ronald (Kim) Jarrett, and Donald (Lisa) Jarrett; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Kelli) Jarrett, Josh (Julie) Jarrett, Natashia (Ryan) Jackson, Jessica (Lionel) Johnson, Justin Jarrett, Jennifer (Nate) Laurance, Jasemine Jarrett, Katlin Jarrett, Lucas Jarrett, Timothy Jarrett, and Kris Jarrett; great grandchildren, Jacob Jarrett, Tyler Jarrett, Emma Jarrett, Isaac Jarrett, Amber Jackson, Eliza Jackson, Noah Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Rosanna Veneable, Elizabeth Jarrett, Victoria Jarrett, Madaline Jarrett, and Calie Jarrett. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Bro. Jeremiah Jarrett officiating. Interment followed the service in the Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ronald Jarrett, Justin Jarrett, Josh Jarrett, Lucas Jarrett, Timothy Jarrett, and Tommy Elliott. Serving as honorary escort was Natashia Jackson, Katlin Jarrett, and Kris Jarrett. Visitation was held on Monday, prior to the service, from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help defray final expenses.
