Grady Henry Henson, age 88, of McCaysville, GA passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 in the North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, GA. Mr. Henson was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from the Cities Service Company where he had worked as a Roaster Operator. He was a Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Mineral Bluff Lodge #483F&AM and was a member of the North Georgia Honor Guard and the Blue Ridge Chapter of the DAV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Duckett Henson and parents, Arthur and Mary Magnuss Henson. He is survived by son Michael Henson of Ellijay, GA; brother, Bill Henson of McCaysville, GA; sister, Ruth Newton of Blue Ridge, GA; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 7th at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Doyle Davis officiating. Music was by the A.C. Caylor family. Pallbearers were Chip Pittman, Darion Rose, Mark Henson, David Henson and Ian Smith. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Masonic graveside service followed by Mineral Bluff Masonic Lodge #483 F&AM.
