The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Mrs. Gracie Nell Ensley, age 72, of Epworth who passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 in the Hospice Atlanta in Atlanta, GA. Born in Escambia County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Clarence M. Sr. and Ruthie M. (Cobb) Brooks. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and the Lebanon WMU. Mrs. Ensley volunteered and served food for Habitat for Humanity and was a Red Cross volunteer. She also was a lifetime member of the Georgia Parent Teacher Association. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty two years of marriage, Arthur James Ensley, Sr. She is survived by a son, Arthur James Ensley, Jr. of Atlanta; daughter, Gloria Ann Ensley of Mineral Bluff; granddaughters, Jessica Michelle Green and her husband Michael of Mineral Bluff and Erica Almond of Mineral Bluff; great grandchildren, Katilyn Green and Dakota Green; brothers, Isaac Brooks, Lee Allen Brooks and his wife Cherie Brooks, and Clarence Marcella Brooks, Jr. all of Mobile, Alabama; sisters, Ester Marie Jones of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, Sarah Michelle McArthur and husband James McArthur of Mobile, AL, and Andrea Jean Clark of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law, Elburn Ensley of Epworth; sisters-in-law, Audrey Ensley of Epworth, Ruth Henson of Blue Ridge, and Ruby Ensley of Epworth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 31, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Claude Mathis and Rev. David McLendon officiating. Music will be by Ed Vest, Delores Gibbs, Martha Kreis, and Tammy Welch. Pallbearers will be James R. Ensley, Kenneth Ensley, George L. Ensley, Lee A. Brooks, Clarence M. Brooks, Jr., and Larry W. Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael K. Green, Dr. Charles Watras, Issac C. Brooks, Michael Ensley, Danny Ensley, Charles Ensley, and Lynn Ensley. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memory Garden with a memorial white dove release.
