The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Grace Ellen Stover, age 68 of Blue Ridge who passed away on Saturday, February 23, in the Fannin Regional Hospital. She was born in Gilmer County on May 3, 1939 to the late Frank and Etsy Henderson Parks. Mrs. Stover was a homemaker and enjoyed watching birds and growing flowers. She was a member of Damascus Baptist Church where she had a special church family. Mrs. Stover also enjoyed being a part of the Stover Family. She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-seven years, David L. Stover; a son, Micheal Stover; brothers, Herman Parks, Winston Parks and John Parks and a sister, Beatrice Stone. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Glenda Stover of Blue Ridge; brothers, David Parks of Onaway, MI, Bennie Parks of Ellijay and Donald Parks of Ellijay; sisters, Kathleen Pate of Chatsworth, GA, Odell Stacy of Talking Rock, GA and Marie Smith of Talking Rock, GA; three grandchildren, Heather Gazaway of Blue Ridge, Richard Gazaway of Blue Ridge and David Stover of Blue Ridge. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Collis and Rev. Danny Collis officiating. Music will be provided by The Beach Family and Pat Mashburn. Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Lewis, Nathan Chancey, David Queen, Mark Young, Larry Queen and Ricky Beach. Honorary Pallbearers will be Junior Beach, Edward Lewis, Tommy Grindstaff, Elmo Charles, Garland Nicholson and Alan Chancey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday after 3:00 p.m. but especially from 6-9 p.m on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
