The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Conner, age 85, of the Heritage Health Care who passed away on Saturday May 23, 2009. Born in Bartow County, GA she was the daughter of the late William Noah and Dolly May Crow Broome. Mrs. Conner was of the Baptist faith and a Past Worthy Matron of Morganton Chapter #394 O.E.S. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Conner; two sons, Lottie and Lynn Conner; and one daughter, Johnnie Lou Conner. Survivors include three sons, Gerald Conner of Morganton, GA, Roy Conner of Blue Ridge, GA and Jimmy Conner of Grand Prairie, TX; two daughters, Linda Lyons of Toano, Virginia and Joan Walden of Dawsonville, GA; one brother, Robert Broome of Jasper, GA; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday May 26, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Patsy Beaver. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Butch Anderson, Larry Thomas, Josh Thomas, Derrick Conner, Darrin Conner, Michael Walden and Mike Walden. Interment will follow in the Hyde family cemetery.
