Gordon Newton Alsobrook, age 83, of Cherry Log, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Born in Cherry Log, GA, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Allen Alsobrook. In his earlier years, Gordon logged timber for a number of years. Later he worked as an over the road trucker and later retired as an machine operator for IBEW Power. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Davenport Alsobrook; one daughter, Wanda Alsobrook; and one sister, Beatrice Davenport. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Dale Alsobrook and Darrell and Dorothy Alsobrook all of Cherry Log, GA; grandchildren, Joshua Alsobrook, Amber Alsobrook Tucker, Jordan Alsobrook, Jesse Alsobrook, Machelle Alsobrook, Alex Alsobrook; great grandchildren, Noah Alsobrook, Evelyn Alsobrook and Ashley Alsobrook. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Rock Creek Baptist Church with Brother Joshua Alsobrook officiating. Music was provided by the Church Choir. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Joshua Alsobrook, Jordan Alsobrook, Jesse Alsobrook, Alex Alsobrook, Christopher Davenport and Randall Herendon.
