Glenn Edwin Holland, age 72, of Epworth, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1953, in DeLand, FL, to the late Thelma and Edwin Holland. Glenn is preceded in death by his infant son, Roy Holland, his parents; and grandparents, Roy and Estell Braddock and Ivan and Lillian Whittington.
Glenn graduated from Deland High School in Deland FL in 1971. He owned and operated Holland Excavating, Inc. in DeLand, FL for 25 years. After relocating to Fannin County in 1997, he and his wife, Nora, started G & N Enterprises, Inc. in 2001. Throughout his life, Glenn loved collecting antique John Deere tractors and building street rods. For those who knew him, he had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others. Glenn loved Christmas and had a desire to make sure that everyone had a memorable Christmas. He had recently purchased a flagpole for his grandson, Roy Green's Eagle Scout project at the Fannin County Agriculture Center. Glenn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth, and had most recently attended Mobile Baptist Church. Many who knew Glenn would describe him as "one-of-a-kind." Most of all, Glenn loved his family.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nora G. Holland, whom he affectionately called "Nordeane." The two had just celebrated their anniversary on July 6, 2025. Also surviving Glenn, are his daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Raymond Green; grandson, Roy Green; sister, Pamela Lecakis; and many family and friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music was provided by Jennifer Danner. Interment followed in the Epworth First Baptist Cemetery. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Holland may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital online at stjude.org or by mail at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
