Mrs. Georgia "Gertrude" Lackey Dickey, age 92, of Copperhill, TN passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 in the Heritage Health Care Center in Blue Ridge, GA. Mrs. Dickey was born in Etowah, TN on May 15, 1921. She was owner/operator of Dickey's Coffee Cup in McCaysville, GA and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents. L.G. and Alma Lackey; sisters, Laura Lee Lewis and Cora Mae Dockery; brothers-in-law, Gene Sutton and Junior Dockery; son-in-law, Marion Joe Waters; daughter-in-law, Barbara Dickey; and grandson, Brett Dickey and David Dickey. She is survived by sons, Jimmy Dickey of the Higdon community, Joe Dickey of McCaysville, GA and Eddie Dickey of Akron, OH; daughters, Christine Waters of Morganton, Juline Mixon of Copperhill, and Carolyn Walters of Kathleen, GA; brother, Junior Lackey of McCaysville; a beloved friend, Amos Miller of McCaysville; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dickey officiating. Music will be by The Chapman Family. Pallbearers will be Jacob Dickey, B.J. Howard, Nathan Dickey, Jonah Dickey, T.J. Dickey, Josh Dickey, Austin Dickey, and Steve Dickey. Interment will follow in Anderson Cemetery.
