Geraldine Denton Taylor, age 86, of Ducktown passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Born on October 18, 1938 in Cherokee, NC, she was the beloved daughter of the late J.E. Denton and Lena Ballew Denton.
A devoted member of Mine City Baptist Church, Geraldine cherished her time with family and friends. She dedicated 23 years of her life to Ducktown Elementary School, where she served as Secretary. Her kindness and dedication left a lasting impact on colleagues and students alike.
Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Bud Taylor; son, Greg (Vickie) Taylor; daughter, Sandi (Eddie) Cole; her grandchildren, Daniel Taylor and Kyra (Tyler) Webb; great-granddaughter, Taylyn Webb. She is also survived by sisters, JoAnn (Larry) Kimsey, Evelyne Rozanski, Ann Tanner, Becky (Lee) Harris, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Geraldine's legacy of service, faith, and hospitality will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, she had a passion for ensuring that no visitor ever left hungry, always offering a warm meal and an even warmer heart.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Mine City Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Buchanan officiating. Music was provided by Becky Harris, Pat Smith, and David Bigham. Interment followed at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Cook, David Bigham, Chad Nicholson, Doug Collins, Dwight Dilbeck, L.W. Smith, and Todd Rollins. The family received friends and loved ones at Mine City Baptist Church on Thursday from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
