Obituary
Mrs. Geraldine (Geri) Brown, age 70, of Blue Ridge passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. She was a native of Illinois, daughter of the late Archie Holman and Goldie Mae Green Holman and was retired from the carpet industry in Dalton. She was the wife of the late Bill Joe Brown and was a member of the Hipps Chapel Church. Mrs. Brown was an avid Braves Fan.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Lynnette Griggs of Benton, IL, and Marty and Michelle Griggs of West Frankfort, IL; one sister, Louise Muris of Lincoln, IL; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hipps Chapel Church with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Ernest German officiating. Music was by the church choir. Interment followed in the Hipps Chapel Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Davenport, James Davneport, Rick Davenport, Phil Davenport, Mike Foster, and Billy Clayton. Honorary Pallbearers were Billy Cantrell, David Foster, and Rene Bidez. Memorial contributions may be made to Hipps Chapel Community Cemetery C/O Bill Joe Postelle, P.O. Box 1508, Blue Ridge, Ga. 30513.
Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements.
