The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for George Oren Wright, age 64, of Mineral Bluff, GA who passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born on February 22, 1947 in Fannin County, GA to the late Denson Oren and Jean Adell Nix Wright. George was a carpenter with the Carpenters Union. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. George was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Jean Talley.Survivors include his wife, Lillian Mae Gaddis Wright of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Shannan and Katie Wright of Mineral Bluff, GA; brother, Dee Wright of McCaysville, GA; three grandchildren, Kashanna Wright, Shakatlyn Wright and Karisha Wright.Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Rice officiating. Music will be by Midway Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Stanely Wood, Darrell Stallord, Warren McNutt, Chad Green, J.J. Gaddis, Rick Clark and Keith Gaddis. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Gaddis. Interment will follow in the Salem #2 Church cemetery.
