George Winford Watson, age 72, of Epworth, GA, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. Born on June 1, 1944 in Blue Ridge, GA, he was the son of the late Delmar Watson and Lois Keener Watson. Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Watson of Ellijay; son, George "Buster" Watson of Cleveland, TN; three brothers, Larry (Ellene) Watson, Daniel (Jeanie) Watson, and Edwin R. Watson all of Epworth; sister, Martha Breeden of Blue Ridge; and seven grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 2:00 pm from Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Interment followed in the Helping Hand Church Cemetery with Rev. Denny Hawkins officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Michael Watson, Austin Watson, Adam Conner, Zeke McPherson, Johnson Foster and Joe Breeden. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Postell, Roger Ritchie, Matt Dyer and Bill Joe Postell. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements. .
