He was survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Kassandra Waters of Carolina Beach, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Glenda Queen of McCaysville; niece and nephews, Angelica and Roy Lee Queen; aunt, Mae Waters of McCaysville; and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Roy Waters and Rev. Ed O'Neal officiating. Pallbearers were Michael Ray, Kenny Stuart, Jr., Ken Stuart III, Mikey Worley, Mike Worley, and Austin Ritter. Honorary pallbearers were Dan Ballew and K&S Tank Line Drivers. Interment followed in Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
