Mr. George David Henson, age 52, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Fannin County, passed away on April 19, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Henson; and his mother, Marlene Bennett Landreth. He was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church and had joined August 3, 1969. Mr. Henson also served in the U.S. Coast Guard.Survivors include a dear friend, Terri Crow of Birmingham, AL; brothers, Stanley Henson of Blue Ridge, GA and Greg Henson of Canton, GA; step-mother, Ruth Henson of Blue Ridge, GA; aunts and uncles, Birda Williams Garren of Blue Ridge, GA, Don Bennett and Wendell Bennett both of McCaysville, GA and C.W. Henson of Morristown, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be conducted on Sunday May 10, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Curtis officiating. Interment was in the Barnes Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers the family request that donations be made in memory of Mr. Henson to the Barnes Chapel Cemetery Fund.
