George Andrew Gibbs, 68 of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was born Monday, June 3, 1946 in Mineral Bluff to the late Jace and Delma Gibbs. He is preceded in death by his wife, Burgia Jewel Baker "Sissy" Gibbs.He is survived by Sons, William Gibbs of Blue Ridge, Jimmy Gibbs (Amanda), of Mineral Bluff, and Tim Gibbs of Mineral Bluff; Brothers, Jerry Gibbs of Mineral Bluff and Thomas Gibbs of Mineral Bluff, sisters, Linda Faye Smith and Barbara Pittman; and 5 grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Blue Ridge with Rev. Danny Queen officiate. Pallbearers were Rodney Sawyer, Richard Stevens, Corey Swanson, Jonathan Gibbs, Jace Gibbs, and Cody Herring. Honorary pallbearers were Bo Eaton, Tommy Gibbs, and Terry Gibbs.
