George Harry Briant, age 76, of McDonough, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale, GA. Mr. Briant was born in McCaysville, GA to the late Murphy Christopher Briant and Retha Marie Hill Briant. He worked as an inspector for General Motors and retired after 30 years of service, He was a member of Peoples Baptist Church in McDonough, GA. Mr. Briant was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Briant; and his twin brother, Clifford Briant.He is survived by his wife, Christeen Briant of McDonough, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Christy Briant of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Bob Pruett of McDonough; siblings, Milton Briant, Kay Cook, Greta Jones, Mary McCullough and Virginia Bradham; one grandchild, Kerri Nicholson; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services were held Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
