Gene Patterson, age 64, of Chatsworth passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at his home.Gene, better known as "Digg" or "Fargo" to family and friends, was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed music, wrestling, and other sports.He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Imogene Dailey Patterson; sister, Brenda Sue Waters; and brothers, Billy, Glenn, and Harold Patterson.Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Henderson Patterson; sons and daughters-in-law, Olan and Amy Patterson of Ellijay, Shane and Tina Patterson of Chatsworth; Dean and Bethina Lawson of Chatsworth; and Tim and Anna Patterson of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Timmy Weaver of Chatsworth; brother and sister-in-law, Tom Jack and Marlene Patterson of Epworth, GA; brother-in-law, Charles D. Waters of Copperhill, TN; grandchildren, Heather West, Josh Weaver, Cameron Lawson, Cody Patterson, Tucker Patterson, Christian, and Conner Savage; great-grandchildren, Noah West and Isaiah West; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Patterson will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Woods, Tim Sanford, and Billy, Gary, and Eric Waters officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Tabernacle Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m.Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements. .
