With great sorrow we announce the passing of Gary Dale Weaver, age 52 of Blue Ridge, GA. Gary went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Blairsville. He was born again at the age of 13, and was of the Baptist faith. Gary was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church in Morganton, GA., serving as the church treasurer. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Gary was a light and a blessing to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Felton Weaver, nephew Heath Stover, and father in law Rev. James Holsonback. Gary leaves behind his wife Amanda Weaver, and son Stephen Weaver of the home; mother Kathy Weaver of Ellijay, mother in law Betty Holsonback of Epworth; brothers Wade and Mark Weaver of Ellijay, Mark and Melissa Holsonback of McCaysville; sisters Elane Hughes of Ellijay, and Lynn Fowler (Francisco Vargas) of Chatsworth; a special brother Shaun and Tara Simmons; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Maple Grove Baptist Church in Morganton with Rev. Nathan Smith and Rev. Gerald Siniard officiating. Music will be provided by Hannah Holsonback. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Mark Holsonback, Justin Hughes, Shaun Simmons, Rev. Frank Ray, John Holsonback, Adam Weaver, Luke Holsonback, and Austin Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Landen Siniard, and Benjamin Holsonback. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will meet with friends Thursday, September 9 fro 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Akins Funeral Home in Blue Ridge. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials can be made to the funeral home on Gary's behalf to help with funeral costs.
