He was preceded in death by his father Claude Pearl Rhodes.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Crystal Rhodes of Blue Ridge and Jason and Julie Rhodes of Blue Ridge; his mother, Anna Lee Rhodes of Epworth; brother, Tony Rhodes of Mineral Bluff; sisters, Joyce Rhodes of Blue Ridge, Pam Free of Epworth, Midge Cook of Blue Ridge, and Janie Queen of Epworth; grandchildren, Jake Rhodes, Austin Rhodes, and Blake Rhodes.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Music was by the A.C. Caylor Family. Pallbearers were Jerry Wilson, Jerry Martin, Kenny Norton, Dale Kaylor, Josh Dillard, and Jim Dillard. Honorary pallbearers were Barry Messer and Rocky Mullins. Interment followed in Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery.

Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
