Gary Walter Porter, age 63, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 13, 1960, in Copperhill, TN to the late Walter and Helen Porter.

Gary worked as a Georgia State Patrol in his earlier years and retired after working 30 years for TDS Telecom. He was kind-hearted; a loving father and grandfather and a faithful friend.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Porter) Talley; son Garrison Porter; sisters, Tammy (Porter) Collis and Sherry (Porter) Jarrard; Grandchildren, Aubree Franklin, Hudson Franklin, & Tate Talley;Nephews, Greg Step and Brandon Step; and Special friends Rodney and Pamela Ensley.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
