Gary Allen Avid fisherman and family man Mr. Gary Beecher Allen, age 54, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at his home. He was born in Fannin County, GA on May 13, 1955. Gary was a life time member of Damascus Baptist Church. He enjoyed bass fishing and spending time with his family. Gary was employed at Shaw Industries of Blue Ridge and Ellijay as a shift supervisor. He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Sandra Allen of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel G. and Jessica Allen of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie A. and Drew Anderson of Blue Ridge, GA ; parents, Johnny and Vena Allen of Blue Ridge, GA; two sisters, Peggy Nicholson of Blue Ridge, GA and Cheryl Paskiet of Ellijay, GA; four grandchildren, Sydney, Shaun, Sara and Seth Allen.Funeral services were conducted on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Glen Collis and Rev. Danny Collis officiating. Music was by the Beach Family and Pat Mashburn. Pallbearers were George Mitchell Rogers, Larry Nicholson, David White, Kenny Breedlove, Gary Twiggs, Shannon Payne, and Larry Bradburn. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Nicholson, Bill Sowers, Steve Mitchell, Jim Hughes, Brad Waters and Ricky Beach. Interment followed in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
