Garabed John Charles "Chuck" Ohanian III age 72 of Canton, GA and Santa Monica, CA passed away Monday March 18, 2024, after a long terminal illness.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Born to Lorrine Epps Ohanian and Garabed John Ohanian ll July 28, 1951, in Santa Monica, CA, He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Santa Monica, CA.Chuck and Brenda met on a blind date in Santa Monica, CA February 26, 1978. The date was arranged by chuck's boss's wife who was Brenda's aunt's hairdresser. Chuck and Brenda were married July 1, 1978, in Santa Monica, CA. During Chucks first visit to Georgia in 1978 he said, "This is where I want to live!"
Chuck and Brenda moved to Georgia in 1989 and settled in Cherokee County. Chuck worked as an auto mechanic, auto parts manager and in auto parts sales. He also enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs football games and the Atlanta Falcons, old western movies and the western tv series. Chuck was a number 1 handyman around the house not letting anything go unrepaired. His love for hot rods, fast cars and new cars was immense. It started at a young age; his first car was a 1971 Ford Torino.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Brenda Sue Bailey Ohanian, Canton, GA, sister-in-law Bernice (Hugh) McClure, Blue Ridge, GA, nephews Dennis (Tesa) McClure, Crystal River, FL, Chad McClure, Blue Ridge, GA, great nephews Peyton McClure, Blue Ridge, GA, Tanner (Katie) McClure, Lawrenceville, GA and great niece Aubree McClure, Blue Ridge, GA.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father Garabed John Ohanian II, Mother Lorraine Epps Ohanian, father-in-law Tom F. Bailey, mother-in-law, Helen Patterson Bailey, brother-in-law Thomas Jerome "Tommy" Bailey and special aunt Flora Mae Patterson Rogers.
Brenda and her family would like to thank all Wellstar doctors, nurses and staff and visiting nurse health system Glenridge Branch and Fox Home Healthcare for all the professional and loving care they provided for Chuck.
