Mr. Franklin D. Grant, age 86, of Ducktown, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his home. He was born on June 2, 1936, to the late Freddie Eugene Grant, Sr. and Myrtie Mae Carter Grant. Franklin retired from the United States Army after more than 20 years of service, where he saw two tours in Vietnam. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 54 years, Lorraine Swanson Grant; three sisters, and a brother.

Franklin is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 14, 2022 from Akins-Cobb of Copperhill from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 4:00 pm from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Bro. Mike Jarrett officiating. Music was provided by Nathan and Jordan Ensley. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Steve Gaddis, Bill Carter, Tyler Ensley, Scott Grant, Christopher Neal, and Scotty Payne. Honorary pallbearers were Freddy Thomas, Daniel Adams, and Franklin''s Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
