Mr. Frankie James Hyatt, age 83, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away on April 2, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 12, 1941 in Mineral Bluff, Georgia to the late Elijah Jefferson Hyatt and Stella Craig Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt was devoted to his faith, and a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. He loved to work, and did so for many years as a mechanic, later retiring from Mohawk Industries. Mr. Hyatt enjoyed singing at church and sharing his testimony about the Lord. He loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren. Mr. Hyatt also took great pleasure in a good book and good conversation.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Amy Suzanne Hyatt; and siblings, Pauline Nisbitt, Johnny Hyatt, Lola Bell, Ella Hawkins, Nancy Law, Hoyt Hyatt, and Alice Hyatt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Diane Davis Hyatt of the home; children and their spouses, James and Amy Hyatt of Mineral Bluff, GA and Angie and Rev. Tony Couch of McCaysville, GA; grandchildren, Jacob (Mara) Couch of McCaysville, GA, Rev. Zachary (Taylor) Couch of McCaysville, GA, Aaron Couch of McCaysville, GA, and Jack Hyatt of Mineral Bluff, GA; great-grandchild, Brantley Couch; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Cornerstone Fellowship Church with Rev. Tony Couch, Rev. Zachary Couch, and Rev. Jesse Sisson officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Zachary Couch and Jacob Couch. Interment followed in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Jacob Couch, Rev. Zachary Couch, Aaron Couch, Jack Hyatt, James Hyatt, and Rev. Tony Couch. Selected to serve as honorary pallbearers were Brantley Couch, Mutt Ferguson, Steve Byers, Anthony Couch, and Bob Hawkins.
