Frank Grizzle, age 80, of Epworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Dahlonega, Georgia.

He was born on May 11, 1946, in Hall County, Georgia. Frank was the son of the late John Henry Grizzle and Cora Bell Smith Grizzle.

Frank was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Margaret Grizzle; children, Janet (the late, Elmer) Thomas and William "Brother" Couch; great-granddaughter, Maisie Brown; and siblings, Delo Grizzle, Ella Dunn, Nola Jane Lawson, Beulah Grizzle, Lizzie Lingerfelt, Mattie Jones, and Fannie Atkins.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Joyce Mealer; sister, Nora Anderson (Mark Strode); grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Cantrell, Danielle (Michael) Sossei, Billie Jean Brown, Franklin Burk, and Brent (Julie) Wright; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Mallory Sossei, Constance and Alayna Cantrell, Doyl Burk, and Damian Wright; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Gary Queen officiating. Interment will follow in the Staffordtown Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Cody Flowers, Raymone Goodwin, Chris Anderson, David Anderson, and Jeffrey Lingerfelt. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 13, 2026 prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
