Obituary

Francis Michael Brady, age 60, of Ellijay, GA passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his home with his family surrounding him. He was born on January 3, 1948 in Savannah, GA. He was preceded in death by his father Francis DeSales Brady. Mr. Brady graduated from Benedictine Military School in Savannah in 1966. He also graduated from Gordon Military College and Georgia Southern College. He was a charter member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was retired from General Mills, Inc. Mr. Brady was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, San Juan del Rio Catholic Church, and Holy Family Catholic Church in Jacksonville, FL as well as Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay, GA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as an eucaristic minister, was involved in Marriage Encounter, served on several parish councils, and other ministries. Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, Cindy Hall Brady of Ellijay; daughter Lucinda Marie Brady of Ellijay; son, Michael David Brady of Ormond Beach, FL; his mother, Augusta Brady of Savannah, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence L. and Melodie Brady of Virginia Beach, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Anne Brady Byerly and James Byerly of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at Good Samartian Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Randall Mattox officiating. In lieu of flowers, Mike has asked for donations to be made to Georgia Mountain Hospice P.O. Box 69 Jasper, GA 30143, the Benedictine Military School 6502 Seawright Drive Savannah, GA 31406. Interment will be in Boneventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
