Frances Ballew Pack, age 85, of McCaysville, Ga., departed her earthly life Tuesday, August 30, 2016, to live with her Savior and be reunited with her beloved husband Gene. Mrs. Pack was born on June 1, 1931, in McCaysville to the Rev. Arthur and Lily Queen Ballew. She was a faithful member of Kingtown Baptist Church. Her life's work was taking care of her family; she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband, Eugene Carlton Pack, she was preceded in death by siblings Harold Ballew, Gladys Carter, Evelyn Queen, Maxine Johnson, and Ronnie Ballew.She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Sharon Pack of McCaysville, Joe and Robyn Pack of Blue Ridge, Jack and Paula Pack of Copperhill, Tenn., and Jon and Cindy Pack of Blue Ridge; siblings and their spouses Joe Ballew of Mableton, Ga., Benny and Patty Ballew of Eatonton, Ga., Sam and Dee Ballew of Cumming, Ga., Kay and Dickey Carter of Smyrna, Ga., and Denise Sullivan Ballew of McCaysville; grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Brian Finnicum, Whitney and Trent Summers, Shea and Ben Callahan, Jody and Melanie Pack, Michael and Jennifer Pack, Jason Pack, Mark and Rhonda Pack, and Carla Pack. Mrs. Pack is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and sister-friends Judy Ramsey and Linda Dickey.Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 3, at 2 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Terry Callihan officiating. Grandchildren served as pallbearers and great-grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in Crestlawn Cemetery.
