Frances Lee Higdon, age 68 of Farner, TN passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020. She was born on July 12, 1951 in Polk County, TN to the late Robert Earl Whitener and Mary Alice Davis Whitener. She was retired from Inter Trade Holdings Company. Frances was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, go to church and spend time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-daughter, Tracy Sliger; grandchildren, Bryson Worthy and Brayln Worthy, brother, Lloyd Whitener and nephew, Josh Mason. Survivors are her husband, Ernest D. Higdon; sons, Anthony Lillard Worthy (Crystal Taylor) of Farner, TN, Timothy Lucas Worthy (Alisha) of Farner, TN and Greg Stewart Worthy of Farner, TN; step-son, Dennis Higdon of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Carol Thomasson (Bill) of Murphy, NC; step-daughters, Joyce Bishop (Don) of Ringgold, Ga and Beth Day (Tracy)of Etowah, TN; brothers, Austin Whitener of Farner, TN and Dennis Whitener (Kathy) of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Barbara Douthitt of Farner, TN and Ramona Bird of Cherokee, NC; step-son-in-law, Paul Sliger of Calhoun, GA; sister-in-law, Rhonda Burns of Blue Ridge, GA; twenty-one grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Harper and Rev Brad Ledford officiating. Music was by the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Choir and Carol Thomasson. Pallbearers were Anthony Worthy, Tim Worthy, Greg Worthy, Bill Thomasson, Buddy Whitener, Dennis Whitener, Dawson Worthy and Hoyt Worthy. Interment followed in the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
