Forrestine Hawkins, age 82, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was born in Fannin County, GA on March 24, 1941, to Woodrow Hooper and WillaMae Davis Hooper. Forrestine was a member of Welcome Hill #1 Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a cafeteria worker in the Fannin County School System. She had a love for flowers and spending time with her family. She never met a stranger, and always made an impactful and lasting impression on those that knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Hooper and WillaMae Davis Hooper; husband, Grene Lee Hawkins; brother, Monroe Hooper; and great-great grandson, Daylen James Towe.

Forrestine is survived by her children, Vickie (Damon) Davenport, Mike (Julie) Buchanan, Derrick (Margie) Buchanan, and Jerry (Brittany) Hawkins; brother, John Linnerson; grandchildren, Eric (Natasha) Davenport, Erica (Tony) Ledford, Jason (Amanda) Towe, Jennifer (Jamie) Ellington, and Asher Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Dawson Davenport, Alexis (Derrick) Allen, Connor (Kaylee) Ledford, and Shelby Ledford, Keaton (Olivia) Towe, Karder Towe, Korben Towe, Keenah Towe, Kaelynn Towe, Kylah Towe, Kabel Towe, Kota Towe, Jada Ellington, and Kadence Ellington; great-great grandchildren, Payton Allen, Brantlee Ledford; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Music was provided by Rhonda Hooper, Natasha Davenport, and Alisa Stanley. Interment followed in the Friendship #2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dawson Davenport, Connor Ledford, Marty Hooper, Scott Rogers, Russell Ware, and Justin Cole. Selected to serve as honorary pallbearers were: Henry Hooper, Randy Hooper, Bobby Davis, Ricky Davis, Mike Chambers, Jim Ware, Lonnie Cole, and Jathan Hawkins.
