Forrest Douglas Carden, age 73, of Benton, TN passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at his home. He was born on February 1, 1947 in McCaysville, GA to the late Forrest Gurley Carden and Margaret Evelyn Ellis Carden. Forrest loved his family and was respected by them. He graduated from Meiggs County High School. Forrest was a construction worker at Ocoee Steel. He was in the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam, receiving two purple hearts and one bronze star. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher Carden (Melissa) of Cleveland, TN and Thomas Wray of Turtletown, TN; stepdaughters, Nicole Akens and LeAnn Dockery; sister, Ella Wray of Benton; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside services were conducted on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Zion Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Carden, Thomas Wray, Robbie Miller, Ramond Akens, Brandon Dockery and Dirk Beaver. Military Honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
