Mrs. Florence Roxanne Whitaker Chapman, age 71, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at home. Mrs. Chapman was born on June 25, 1941 in Gilmer County, GA to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Jessie May Pless Whitaker. She was retired from Levi Strauss as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Chapman was a member of East Side Church of Christ.She is survived by her husband, Harold Chapman of Blue Ridge, GA; sons, David Chapman and James (Pete) Chapman both of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter, Connie Chapman of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, John Whitaker of Ellijay, GA and Frank Whitaker of Jasper, GA; sisters, Irene Rogers of Jonesboro, GA, Dessie Worley of Ellijay, GA, Betty Carroll of Ellijay, GA, Sue Long of Dalton, GA, Joann Cowart of Chatsworth, GA and Wanda Patterson of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Josh, Jessie, Matthew and Krissy.Funeral services were held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Minister Dennis Morris officiating. Music was by Sharon Bearden. Pallbearers were James Long, Gary Cowart, Michael Whitaker, David Whitaker, Wayne Sluder and Jeff Nicholson. Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park.
