Mrs. Flora Geneva McVey, age 88, of Forest Park, GA passed away Friday, May 22, 2009. She was born in Fannin County, GA to the late James Verlin and Nellie Shore Richards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Reece McVey; a stillborn child and by siblings, Glenn Richards and Pearl Anthony. She was a member of Guiding Light Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and cooking. Survivors include her children, Bernard (Nancy) McVey of Covington, GA, David McVey of Rex, GA, Geneva (David) Guthrie of Covington, GA, Troy (Renee) McVey of Covington, GA; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Guiding Light Baptist Church in Jonesboro, GA with Rev. Harold Lowery and Rev. Benny Thomas officiating. Interment followed in Hemptown Baptist Church Cemetery in Morganton, GA at 3:30 p.m. Condolences may be sent to haistenfunerals.com.
