Flora Wellman Keys, age 99 of Epworth passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her home. She was born on July 15, 1921 in Waterbury, CT to the late Cliford Wellman and Mariam Daily Wellman. Mrs. Keys worked at Benrus Watch Company of Waterbury, CT, Scovel Manufacturing and Spary Brass Company. She attended Hot House Baptist Church. Mrs. Keys was preceded in death by her former husband, Clifford Atherton of Thomaston; husband of twenty-two years, Donald Keys of Epworth; and son, James Atherton. Survivors are her children, Robert L. Atherton of Pitts, GA, Arlene Atherton of CT and Linda Kelly of Mayfield, NY; grandchild, Wayne Titus, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of East Hartford, CT; numerous great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Oplak of Thomaston, CT and her children, Kathy, Mark and Peter; prayers to my best friends and neighbors, Ann Tanner and Alma Frances and my good friend, pastor and best carpenter, Rev. Danny Queen. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Danny Queen and Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Morrow, Donald Henderson, Doyle Petty, Scott Johnson, Kenny Green and Albert Green.
