Mr. Ezell Albert Queen, age 81, of McCaysville, GA passed away on Tuesday November 1, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late Garnett and Elsie Russell Queen. Mr. Queen served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a Boilermaker for the Tennessee Chemical Company for thirty seven years. Mr. Queen enjoyed Fly Fishing, Bass Fishing and Quail Hunting and also wood working. Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Lorene Taylor Queen of the home; two daughters, Sharon Griffith of Morganton, GA and Debra Chastain of Copperhill, TN; four grandchildren, Sgt. Major Marcus Griffith, Trent Chastain, Matthew Griffith and Adrian Chastain; two great grandchildren, Rees and Nelsen Griffith; one sister, Peggy Galloway of Epworth, GA. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Taylor and Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music was provided by Doug Simonds. Pallbearers were Marcus Griffith, Trent Chastain, Matthew Griffith, Nick Wimberley, Tommy Cook and Lee Roy Satterfield. Members of the Local 586 Boilermakers Union served as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in the Crestlawn cemetery. Akins funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements.
