The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Mr. Everett Arthur Cochran, age 78, of Farner, Tenn., who died Tuesday, February 5, at Copper Basin Medical Center. Mr. Cochran was employed by Tennessee Forest Service as a firefighter and had worked in the carpet industry in Dalton. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. He was a native of Polk County, son of the late James McKinley Cochran and Missouri Dillard Cochran.He is survived by his wife Marie Cochran of the home, four daughters, April Parris of Gastonia, N.C., Susie and husband Randy Payne, Sandra McCoy of Farner, and Karen and husband Arnold Dean of Dalton, Ga., three sons and daughters in law, Larry and Ann Cochran of Dalton, Ga., Eddie and Leslie Allen of Farner, Tenn., and Mitchell and Ann Allen of Farner, Tenn., one sister, Blanche Johnson of Dalton, Ga., one brother, Lester Lee Cochran of Holly Hills, Fla., sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be at New Zion Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Friday, February 8, with Rev. Larry Weaver and Rev. Ed Worthy officiating. Music will be by Clyde Rose, Teresa Dillard and Tina Taylor. Pallbearers will be Hoyt Taylor, Mitchell Allen, Randy Payne, Steve Adams, Eddie Allen, Jason Parris and Barry Cochran. Interment will be at New Zion Cemetery.
