Mrs. Evelyn Anna Tanner, age 86, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on Wednesday June 26, 2013. Born in Fannin County, GA she was the daughter of the late John Thurlow and Anna Pearl Garren Walden. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and had attended the Harbor Ministries Church. Mrs. Tanner was a loving wife, mother and Grandmother. She had spent most of her life either raising her own children and helping with her grandchildren and even some of her great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lee Tanner; one daughter, Denise Postell and one grandson, Chris Tanner.Survivors include her children, Pat T. Hubbard of Epworth, GA, Ray L. and Mary Tanner of Copperhill, TN, Sherry T. Ray of Copperhill, TN and D. Susan Tanner of McCaysville, GA; sister, Laura Grace Scribner of Cleveland, TN; eight grandchildren, Kim Haight, Dr. Richard Tanner, Stephen Hubbard, Dr. Michael Ray, Jeff Hubbard, Susan Ratcliff, Eric Ray and Amy Tanner Phillips; great grandchildren, David and Kennedi Haight, Brandon and Brittany Hubbard, Jordan Johnson, Kenneth Tanner, Janine Tanner, Jackson Ray, Dylon Ray, Bearon Ray, Tanner and Michael Phillips. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday June 28, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denise Caldwell and David Haight officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. G.W. Mathis officiating. Music will be provided by Lisa Fields. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Rodney Phillips, Jordan Johnson, Eric Ray, David Haight, Sean Ratcliff and Michael Ray.
